The week before I started my experience as a British trainee, getting bored alone, I began my quest to find some new friend. I went on the CouchSurfing website page about Bournemouth. CouchSurfing is a wonderful social network which allows meeting local and international people from all around the world who are presently at the same place than you to met. So, I read that there is a weekly meeting each Thursday night at the pub 60 Million Post Card and I say, Wine Note?
In order to make a good impression, I had decided to act like a young shy French man because I think that shy persons have a mysterious side which encourages people to get interested and also they often have some non-expected qualities. Thus, my shy way associated with my incredible and undeniable charm enhanced by my gazes like the Puss in Boots (Shrek), we must please ourselves from time to time, worked as planned. I’ve been caught in a series of numerous questions (In fact, it’s the same for all the new people, but let’s say that because of my crazy charm).
During these meetings, you need to know some primordial physical characteristics to determine which nationality is your interlocutor. Therefore, the polish guys are always thirsty, the British have never cold and don’t speak any others languages…
No, actually you just have to ask them their nationalities!
I like to say that in addition to the good atmosphere, these multicultural meeting are very interesting since I’m always learning new and very important cultural facts as the fact that Chocobon Kinder isn’t sold in Columbia. Fascinating! No?
One of the most amusing aspects is the accent and speaking rhythms of each person. Thus, while French can tell you approximately 200 words per minutes, Spanish, Portuguese or an Italian can tell between 500 and 10 000 word in the same time.
Being not too talkative, I was in the 7 minutes interior war to find the best way to launch the discussion when an unexpected event came to my rescue: someone has just proposed a card play, which is an excellent social method.
After a few CouchSurfing meetings I’ve known the regular people with whom I make plan to go out.
Mister Wine Note.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The next article will be published the in January
