As I had the opportunity to do a gap year between my two final years of study in Business school, I took it and have decided to improve my English and professionals skills with our best enemies: the british!
Yes, me, little good guy from the south of France, brown hair, not so bad looking who has never been away from France more than three weeks. So, I took the terrible decision to inform my girlfriend about it and I contacted my school in order to get help finding an internship abroad.
Several months passed and I didn’t receive any positives answer, I took the bull by the horns and called a placement agency about my internship. In less than two weeks I had a job interview by phone with a firm located in Bournemouth. Obviously, knowing my english sounds perfectly french, I spent all the day before the interview preparing it and on D-day, with the stress and the excitement, I finaly only spoke about the weather and a little bit about my motivations! Certain I had done the worst job interview in my life I was utterly surprised when I heard that I was selected. I’m now hired in a small accountancy and web-marketing company for 9 months.
Can you imagine what it means living 9 months abroad into the North of the North to an old southern sedentary guy who is only 22. After having started the administrations procedures to leave (internship agreement, insurance, bank…), I began looking for an accommodation on the internet. And it’s with horror and anxiety at the moment I understood it, that it’s more suitable to look for a place to live on the spot. Once the shock over, I booked a hotel for one week and my flight tickets to Bournemouth, well known in England to be a seaside resort (thing that you can easily doubt if your are living near the Mediterranee sea).
And now, I’m ready to go with my two big suitcases and a big bagpack.
